Bitcoin ATM Davao: where to buy crypto in Davao City

There is no verified Bitcoin ATM in Davao City. What Davao does have is two licensed Moneybees counters, one on Governor Duterte Street in Poblacion and one in Ma-a, Talomo, where you can buy crypto with cash and a valid ID. Everywhere else in the city, the practical way to buy crypto in Davao is a pawnshop, GCash or bank top-up into a licensed app.

What to expect before you start

Davao is a different market from Manila or Cebu, and it helps to know three things up front. First, there are no crypto machines. The phrase “bitcoin ATM Davao” gets searched, but every listing we traced leads to a staffed counter, not a vending machine. Second, Davao is actually better served than Cebu when it comes to licensed walk-in counters: Cebu City has none inside city limits, while Davao has two. Third, those two counters are in the older city centre and in Talomo, so if you live in Lanang, Buhangin, Toril or Calinan you may spend longer in traffic than at the counter. That is why most Dabawenyos who own crypto buy it on their phones.

Is there a Bitcoin ATM in Davao?

No. The Philippines only ever had three documented crypto machines, all in Metro Manila: a one-way unit in Makati in 2014, a two-way machine at Sunette Tower in Makati from 2015 and a UnionBank customers-only machine in 2019. None has been confirmed as operating in recent years. The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas stopped granting new VASP licences in September 2022 and, in 2025, extended that freeze indefinitely, so a new operator cannot simply bring a machine to Abreeza or SM Lanang. It would have to be one of the handful of firms already licensed, and none has announced machines anywhere, let alone in Mindanao.

The listing that ATM maps show for Davao, “ACM GoVIP Satoshi Dex”, is a Moneybees teller: a person at a payment counter who processes your order. For most people that is better than a machine. Our Bitcoin ATM Philippines guide covers the national history and why machines never caught on here.

Moneybees Davao: the two licensed counters

Moneybees Forex Corp. is one of the six active non-bank firms on the BSP VASP list. It does not run its own shops in Davao; it works through partner outlets, in this case two ACM GoVIP payment centres. According to the Moneybees outlets page, checked on 28 September 2026, these are the Davao locations:

We found no Moneybees counter in the Lanang business district, around Abreeza and SM Lanang, and none in the northern or southern outskirts. The Poblacion counter suits people who work downtown on weekdays; the Talomo counter is the one to pick for Saturdays and Sundays.

Limits scale with how much paperwork you bring. According to the Moneybees website, Level 1 needs a KYC form and one government ID and allows ₱200,000 a day. Level 2 adds proof of address for ₱1,000,000. Level 3 adds proof of income for ₱5,000,000, and Level 4, with proof of source of funds, goes higher still. Moneybees says there are “no fees”; the margin is built into the rate it quotes, and it does not publish that spread. Coins seen at Moneybees tellers include BTC, ETH, USDT, LTC, BCH, DOGE and DASH, but confirm what the Davao outlet currently handles before you go.

How a counter visit works, step by step

A visit takes longer the first time because of the KYC form. After that it is usually quick. This is the order we would follow:

1. Call or message the outlet first

   Confirm the hours, the coins available that day and whether they can handle your amount. Outlet partners can change without notice, and a wasted trip from Toril to Poblacion eats half a day.

2. Prepare your wallet address

   Moneybees sends crypto to a wallet you choose. Copy the receiving address from your wallet app and note the network, for example USDT on TRON or on Ethereum. A wrong network can mean lost funds.

3. Bring ID, and proof of address if needed

   One valid government ID covers purchases up to ₱200,000 a day. For larger amounts bring a recent utility bill or bank statement in your name.

4. Ask for the quote before you pay

   Because the fee is inside the rate, compare the counter’s price with the live price in a licensed app such as Coins.ph. A gap of a few percent may be fine for convenience; a large gap is worth questioning.

5. Pay, then watch the transfer arrive

   Stay until you see the transaction in your wallet, keep the receipt, and store it with the date and peso amount for your records.

Selling works in reverse. You send crypto to the Moneybees wallet, and the outlet either pays you cash on the spot or transfers pesos to your bank. For large sales, ask in advance how much cash the counter can release in one day; small payment centres do not keep unlimited cash on hand.

Why app-first routes suit Davao’s distances

Davao City covers 2,443.61 square kilometres, which makes it the largest city in the Philippines by land area. Its districts run from the coast at Toril and Talomo up to farming areas in Calinan and Marilog. Two counters cannot cover that. Apps can, and the cash networks behind them reach every barangay.

Pawnshop cash-in to Coins.ph. At M Lhuillier, Cebuana Lhuillier, Villarica or Pera Hub you pay pesos against a Coins.ph reference number and a flat ₱25 fee. The official limits are ₱100 to ₱50,000 per transaction (₱20,000 at Palawan and Pera Hub), and the pesos arrive within about 10 minutes. From there you can buy BTC, ETH or USDT from ₱60. GCash and Maya. Load your wallet at a partner outlet, supermarket or convenience store and buy inside GCrypto or Maya Crypto. Maya’s cash-in is free up to ₱8,000 a month, then 2%, and GCash’s help pages describe the same threshold. InstaPay from your bank. If your salary lands in a bank account, send pesos to Coins.ph or PDAX by InstaPay, which is instant and capped at ₱50,000 per transfer. Most major banks made it free in mid-2026.

OFW remittances, freelancers and agri-export money

Much of the money moving into Davao comes from outside. Filipinos abroad sent home US$35.63 billion in cash remittances in 2025, according to BSP data reported by the Philippine News Agency, and Mindanao families receive a share of it. A growing number of senders use stablecoins: the relative abroad buys USDT, sends it to a family member’s verified Coins.ph or GCrypto account, and the family sells it for pesos and withdraws at a pawnshop in town. Davao is also an agricultural export city, known for bananas, pineapples, coffee, cacao and durian. Some growers, traders and the freelancers who work for them are paid in dollars, and a few are paid in crypto. For amounts above ₱1 million, the licensed OTC desks of Coins.ph and PDAX are run from Metro Manila, are contacted by email or chat, and settle through bank transfer, which is safer than carrying bags of cash to any counter. Selling crypto and cashing out in Davao

You have two good options. The first is a Moneybees counter, which can pay cash on the spot or transfer to your bank. The second is to sell inside a licensed app and move the pesos out. From Coins.ph, InstaPay to your bank costs ₱5 and PESONet is free. For physical cash, a remittance-centre pickup costs ₱105 up to ₱10,000 and 1.6% above that. Watch the per-transaction caps: ₱49,000 at M Lhuillier, ₱29,000 at Cebuana Lhuillier, ₱14,000 at Palawan and ₱350,000 at Villarica. The person collecting needs two valid IDs.

If your pesos are in GCash, you can withdraw at one of its 413,000-plus partner outlets nationwide or at a BancNet ATM with a GCash card. Third-party guides report an outlet fee of around 2%, so for larger amounts a bank transfer is usually cheaper. Remember that a Basic Coins.ph account cannot cash out at all; verify your ID first. Safety tips for buying and selling crypto in Davao

Most losses in the Philippines come from people, not hacks: fake “mentors” on Telegram, fake exchange apps and strangers offering to buy USDT face to face. A few rules keep you out of trouble.

• Trade only with licensed counterparties. Check any app or “Davao crypto exchange” page against the BSP list and our licensed exchanges list.
• Do not carry large cash across town. If you plan a big counter purchase, go during the day, go with someone, and consider splitting it or using a bank transfer instead.
• Never release crypto on a screenshot. Wait until the pesos actually show in your own account.
• Beware of e-wallet money from strangers. Under the anti-scam law RA 12010, banks and e-wallets may hold disputed funds for up to 30 days, and your account can be frozen even if you acted in good faith.
• Keep records. Save receipts, wallet addresses and chats. They help if you ever need to report a scam.

Davao compared with Cebu and Manila

For walk-in access, Davao sits in the middle. Metro Manila has about twenty Moneybees counters across Makati, BGC, Quezon City and Parañaque. Davao has two.
